Romeo y Julieta
Named after Shakespeare’s tragic ‘star crossed lovers’; Romeo y Julieta was established 1875. Its global popularity surged in the early 20th century, guided by the marketing prowess of Don 'Pepin' Rodriguez. Rodriguez, a talented promoter and well-known socialite, is widely regarded as one of the first manufacturers to grasp the marketing potential of the cigar band. It is said that, during his heyday, up to 20,000 different bands were used in production.
Winston Churchill's admiration for the brand is well known and has been immortalized by the iconic Churchill size.
Admired for its balanced medium-bodied blend, rich in aroma and flavour. In 2020 the Línea de Oro added three medium to full bodied alternatives to the range.
Romeo y Julieta are all 'tripa larga, totalmente a mano' - long filler, totally handmade - and use the finest leaves from Vuelta Abajo.
