Hoyo de Monterrey

Hoyo de Monterrey was founded by José Gener in 1865 in San Juan y Martinez, the heart of the Vuelta Abajo zone, known the world over for the quality of its tobacco fields. The name of the brand translates to "Hole of Monterrey," reflecting the plantation's low laying position on the fertile banks of the San Juan y Martinez River. Monterrey was the first person known to cultivate tobacco in the area.

Gener used this exceptional tobacco to build Hoyo de Monterrey's reputation for delicate,  and aromatic cigars.   The brand boasts the iconic Double Corona, the supremely popular  Epicure line and slightly bolder Le Hoyo Series.

All Hoyo de Monterrey are 'tripa larga, totalmente a mano'—long filler, totally handmade and use the finest leaves from Vuelta Abajo.
